Light, Long-lasting and Rugged

A notebook that has a long battery life is usually heavy. Since you need a bigger battery... duh. A notebook that is lightweight is usually quite fragile. Of course sacrifices are needed to cut off the excess weight. And a notebook that is rugged is usually far from fashionable. It's meant to be rugged... macho-like!

Well, these stereotypes were broken during the launch of Panasonic's new Touchbook CF-W7 and CF-Y7 business mobile notebooks. The new Touchbook models weigh less than 1.6kg, provide up to 9 hours of continuous use, and can survive a fall from a height of 76cm. And they don't look too bad.

With Bluetooth and integrated Intel Centrino mobile technology, that supports all three major WLAN standards and IEEE 802.11a/b/g, connectivity is not an issue.

The CF-W7 and CF-Y7 models are also equipped with an integrated Clam Shell Type DVD multi-drive, USB ports, a PC card slot and an additional SD card slot for external devices or transferring data from memory cards while on the move.

You can get your Panasonic Toughbook CF-W7 and CF-Y7 from mid-December.

And here's something that might motivate you to make up your mind quick:

"From now till 15 December 2007, Panasonic is having an early bird promotion and will be taking special pre-orders for the Toughbook 7 series at all authorised dealers and online at www.panasonic.com.sg/toughbook. Consumers who place their orders during this period will be able to enjoy a free upgrade to a 1 GB RAM and a free Microsoft Office package.

They can also choose to customise their Toughbook with limited-edition colour panels. Five colour choices (Orange Comport, Platinum Light, Black Stone, White Air and Blue Apple) are available for the Toughbook CF-W7, while three different colours (Deep Sea, Metallic Light Blue and Galaxy Black) are up for selection for the CF-Y7. Colour palettes can be viewed online."
